Rodrigues dedicated his 1956 design to Lucio Costa, who worked alongside Oscar Niemeyer on the revolutionary plans for Brazil’s capital, Brasília. Costa was thrilled with to lend his name to this “fi rst modern chair in the spirit of Brazilian tradition”.
