ClassiCon regards furniture not only as functional objects, but as elements that shape social spaces. Design influences behaviour – it affects how we experience spaces, how we move, and how we connect with one another. We see our furniture as social architecture in miniature: it structures spaces, sparks dialogue and promotes open-mindedness.
With balanced proportions, sensuous materials and flexible designs, we create furniture that brings people together. Curves instead of sharp edges, variable systems instead of rigid structures, and a conscious choice of materials are deliberate design decisions that intuitively encourage interaction. Our furniture creates opportunities for communication – in living rooms, lounges or offices – and invites people to share experiences.
Like few other pieces, the Odin sofa by Konstantin Grcic embodies the philosophy that design establishes social spaces and promotes communication. Odin is a statement of social intimacy: its dynamic geometry encourages people to turn towards each other, while the high armrests offer a sense of cocooning.
The Corker series invites spontaneous socialising – as a stool, table or sculpture. Light, warm and versatile, Corker designs can be quickly rearranged and grouped together. Available in three sizes, they create flexible meeting places – both indoors and out. Their rounded form and pleasing tactility encourage closeness, exchange and togetherness.
Also by Konstantin Grcic, the Pallas table is a natural meeting point. The proportions of this striking dining table are carefully designed so that, unlike many extra-wide tables, people sit a little closer together. This fosters conversation and makes Pallas the centre of social interaction in any room.
