ClassiCon works closely with selected manufacturers, primarily in Germany, but also in Italy and Portugal. This local production not only strengthens regional economies, but also allows for shorter transport routes, lower emissions, and greater transparency. It enables us to maintain control over manufacturing standards, guarantee the highest quality, and contribute to sustainable, fair value creation.
We rely on long-term partnerships with predominantly family-run businesses – many of which have lasted for decades. This continuous collaboration with manufacturing companies and service providers creates trust, fosters stable structures, and supports responsible business practices. We help to ensure the continued existence of smaller manufacturers by taking responsibility for quality and social standards.
ClassiCon is committed to upholding human rights throughout the entire supply chain. Our binding code requires partners to pay fair wages, guarantee safe working conditions, and comply with international standards such as those of the ILO (International Labour Organization). Forced or child labour, discriminatory practices, animal testing, and all forms of animal exploitation are strictly prohibited.
By certifying our rug collection with the STEP label, ClassiCon embraces social responsibility and ecological standards in handmade rug production. The non-profit organisation behind STEP is committed to fair wages, the prohibition of child labour, and safe working environments—from health and safety measures to earthquake-resistant facilities. Independent inspections ensure compliance—for the well-being of the weavers and workers and for a sustainable carpet industry.
