Pli Side Table High

Victoria Wilmotte, 2016

With the Pli table series French designer Victoria Wilmotte brings objects of unusual crystalline elegance and astonishing geometry to living environments. The bends and folds that gave Pli its name almost make the stainless steel base look like an oversized finely polished precious stone. The table’s oval forms of the base and tabletop establish an attractive contrast with the facets of the base, which create a fascinating play with light friction and colour reflections in the room. The Pli Side Table is an ideal companion for sofas, chairs or beds. Its glass panel is fully lacquered on its bottom and matches the appropriate colour of the base. With its valuable materials and strong colours, the Pli tables are reminiscent of the elegance of past decades and yet have a contemporary 21st century design.

When Pli captures the sunlight, it shimmers in intensive hues of colour.

DESIGNER

Victoria Wilmotte

Victoria Wilmotte’s method of working can be compared to that of a sculptor. Despite her use of industrial materials and machines, her work is a finely coordinated crafting process: She minutely weighs volumes and empty spaces and removes material until she finds the perfect angle, curve, and surface. She knows how to surprise the observer with unusual materials.
