Marble

We work exclusively with the finest marble, quarried with the utmost care. In carefully chosen quarries, the stone is extracted with precision and efficiency and then processed with minimal waste. Though marble is not a renewable raw material, its longevity, the entirely chemical-free processing and its timeless appearance make it a sustainable choice for select furniture pieces, designed to be cherished for generations. Each piece of natural stone processed for ClassiCon is unique and valuable due to its natural grain. We manufacture our furniture from an exceptional range of marbles, including Nero Marquina, Bianco Carrara, Emperador Dark, Rainforest Green, Sahara Noir, Nero Portoro, Grigio Nuvolato and Verde Guatemala. The diversity allows us to create tables and objects with strikingly different expressions – whether unassuming or bold – featuring subtle iridescence and tones ranging from elegant whites to greens and browns and to deepest black.

Hochwertige Marmorverarbeitung

Not only do we focus on the selection of exceptional marbling and stone types – our processing also meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. The production of marble objects requires precision, experience and time. Stone blocks of homogeneous grain and optimal density are cut, milled, sanded and polished repeatedly in a complex manual process, finally followed by impregnation. This preserves the natural breathability of the stone and allows its texture to remain intact.

Sculptural forms such as the Bell Dining Table by Sebastian Herkner are particularly challenging to produce due to their statics and shape. The bell-shaped base, made of stable and durable marble, is available in Nero Marquina or Verde Guatemala and polished by hand to achieve a high-gloss finish. The smaller original design, the Bell Side Table, is made of four different coloured stone variants. Its curved silhouette is available in matt or polished finishes. The Corker No. 1 Marble by Herzog & de Meuron also has a more monolithic appearance than the original design, which was made of cork. The tactile properties of the natural stone invite the touch, as the cool, smooth surface forms an attractive contrast to the warm, velvety cork of the original design.

Marble plays a versatile role in our portfolio, often paired in striking contrast with materials such as steel or wood. In his Bow Coffee Table No. 3, Guilherme Torres translates stylistic elements from the 1970s into a contemporary design. A slender, polished marble top rests on a steel or brass sheet base with rounded corners. Contrasting materials also define the marble edition of Christian Haas’s Matéria Lowboard series where a table top in deep black Nero Marquina blends harmoniously with a frame made of black lacquered ash.
