Eileen Gray not only created some of the most iconic 20th century furniture classics but also ran a studio where rugs were produced based on her designs. Some of her most beautiful designs are part of our rug collection. Named after the picturesque coastal town Cassis in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France, where Eileen Gray spent significant periods of her life, the colour scheme of this rug is reminiscent of the blackcurrant fruit of the same name. Made of 100% hand-spun New Zealand virgin wool, it combines deep terracotta and fresh strawberry red with geometric white and dark brown surfaces.
Things must not only look right, they must also feel right.
Rug made of 100% hand-spun New Zealand virgin wool. Hand-woven with 80 knots per square inch (6.45cm²). Environmentally friendly colour pigments, tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Low-maintenance, suitable for vacuum cleaners.

Eileen Gray’s achievement in design and architecture is considered pioneering work of Modernism. During her lifetime, she was honoured by the London Royal Society for Arts with the title Royal Designer for Industry, and she is one of few women mentioned in the same breath as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. ClassiCon produces her iconic furniture designs as the sole and rightful licensee worldwide, in coordination with Aram Designs Ltd., London.
The "Eileen Gray - Non Conformist" exhibition will be extended until 26 February!!
